Type material Type material was not found in the Smithsonian Institution, Washington (USNM), where most of Webster's polychaete material was deposited, and apparently it no longer exists (Pettibone, 1966: 177). Apparently M.H. Pettibone had the intention to desigate a neotype and paraneotypes with base on newly collected material from Chesapeake Bay (Virginia) (see Wolf, 1984: 29-5), but they were not designated as such in her published monograph.
