Editor's comment Zibrowius (1973) recognised that McIntosh's (1885) identification from the deep sea of Placostegus ornatus (Sowerby & Sowerby) was a misidentification. He then named the Challenger specimen McIntosh presented a description of (wrongly named) as Bathyvermilia challengeri Zibrowius, 1973. [details]
