Etymology The specific epithet bathysiphonicola, meaning 'living in Bathysiphon', is composed by the generic name Bathysiphon, the foraminiferan inside which the biggest part of the specimens of the new species were found, followed by the Latin suffix -cola, meaning 'inhabitor', and refers to the habitat of the new species, mainly tests built by the foraminiferan Bathysiphon.  [details]
