Etymology author: articulata "refers to the presence of articulations on tentacular cirri of the animal" [details]
Nomenclature Nereis articulata Hsueh, 2020 is an invalid name and has been replaced by Nereis taichungensis Hsueh, 2020. It is a junior primary homonym to N. articulata Ehlers 1887. Ehlers uses the genus Nereis, without subgenera. N. articulata Ehlers is not a nomen oblitum, and the original name has been used several times since 1900. [details]
