Etymology The name of the genus Chaetosyllis is composed by the New Latin word derived from the Greek chaeta, meaning 'bristle' or 'hair', and the name of the genus Syllis, the type of the family Syllidae, and refers to the long natatorial chaetae present in the type specimen. [details]
