Etymology The species is named after Dr. Louis Amoureux (1919-2011), taxonomist at the Université Catholique de l'Ouest, Angers, France, "in appreciation of his research on polychaetes" (Gillet, 2001: 130). [details]

Type locality Crozet Islands, South West Indian Ocean (46º03.4'S, 49º47.6'E). [details]
Type material Holotype (IRFA ACR001) and paratypes (IRFA ACR003 and IRFA ACR004) deposited at the Museum of the Institut de Recherche Fondamentale et Appliquée, Angers, France. The acronym of this institution might have changed. Duplicates stated to have been deposited at the Museum National d'Histoire Naturelle de Paris, France, and in the South African Museum, Cape Town, South Africa. [details]
