Editor's comment Lumbrineris bassi is listed as a Scoletoma in the 12th SCAMIT checklist of 2018. Online it is also mentioned as a synonym of Scoletoma tenuis, but the basis for this is unknown. [details]
Etymology Author: Lumbrineris bassi is named for "late Mr. John F. Bass, Jr., founder of the Bass Biological Laboratory of Englewood, Florida, who has greatly encouraged a better understanding of the fauna of south-eastern America, and with whose help the present collection was made."
