Molecular data confirm the distribution of Sigambra magnuncus for the Atlantic (Meteor Seamount deep sea, central Atlantic and Brazil and Guinea Basin) and the Pacific (Peru Basin) [details]
Etymology The specific epithet magnuncus derives from the large conspicuous hooks on the notopodia (Latin magnus, 'large', and uncus, 'hook'). [details]
