Taxonomy regarded to be indeterminable by Hartman (1959: 606); however, Vermilia incerta is Quatrefages' new name for Serpula vermicularis non Linnaeus, 1767 sensu Müller, 1789 , which is an indeterminable Hydroides. Note however, that Berkeley, 1834 had already re-named Müller's Zoologia Danica figure in plate 86 as Serpula muelleri [details]
