Etymology Not stated, but the specific epithet chlorobranchiata is composed by the Greek prefix chloro-, meaning 'green', and the New Latin adjective branchiata, meaning 'having branchiae', and presumably makes reference to the green branchiae of the living specimens. [details]
Habitat Coral rubble, dead coral, fine sand, green calcareous algae and among Halimeda. [details]
