Etymology Manayunkia caspica is named for the Caspian Sea, the type locality where it was discovered. [details]

Spelling Annenkova in German text used the incorrect spelling "Manajunkia". As this may be a transliteration decision by the journal editor (although the text is in German the journal is Russian) it is ignored in WoRMS at present. If other examples are found to exist an entry will be given for this spelling. [details]
