Description Shallow water and to about 366 m; usually shallower than 180 m. On more pebbly bottom than most other flatfish (Ref. 2850). Feeds on brittlestars, small crabs, shrimps, clam siphons, other invertebrates, and sandlance (Ref. 4925). A tasty food fish; in some years commercial catch in Canada reaches 3,000 t (Ref 2850).
