Ant'Phipoda Literature database Cerapus cudjoe is described from Cudjoe Channel in the Lower Florida Keys, USA, where it lives primarily on the hydroid, Cnidoscyphus marginatus (Allman), in channels subject to strong tidal flow. The species is characterized by the shape of the palm of male gnathopod 2, and the huge peduncular hook on male uropod 1 which distinguishes it from all congeners. Males were observed swimming during slack tide and actively seeking females in presumed precopulatory behaviour. Descriptors: Cnidoscyphus marginatus
