Remark Floresorchestia ancheidos (K.H. Barnard, 1916) was originally described from the east and west coast of the Cape Peninsula, South Africa. Only the first and second gnathopods were illustrated and there was no mention of modified epimera. Later K.H. Barnard (1940) reported F. ancheidos from the Keurbooms River, South Africa and from ‘Masiene’ (near Chai Chai), Mozambique. Based on the Keurbooms River specimens he illustrated a stridulating organ on epimeron 3. Ruffo (1958) reported F. ancheidos from the east coast of Madagascar. [details]
