Diagnosis Proceraea with brown segmental bands, and antennae, dorsal tentacular cirri, and dorsal cirri brown. [details]
Distribution Only known from Madeira Island, Atlantic Ocean. [details]
Etymology The specific epithet madeirensis refers to the type locality of the species, meaning 'from Madeira'. [details]
Habitat Among hydroids on balanids, rocks with Lithothamnion and epifauna. [details]
Nomenclature Proceraea fasciata Langerhans, 1879 has long been a junior homonym to P. fasciata (Bosc, 1802). Nygren (2004) introduced the new replacement name madeirensis for the species. [details]
