The Permian rocks distributed in Nyukawa Village, Ono County, Gifu Prefecture, central Japan, have been called the Nyukawa Group. This group yields many interesting forms of fusulinids. Stratigraphy and the sedimentary environment are discussed and some fusulinids described which were collected from the Shiroi and Kono Formations exposed in the Gonbo area. The following species are new: Schwagerina uritensis, S. higashidaniensis, Pseudofusulina hexagonaria, P. horadaniensis and Yabeina kanmerae.
