Diagnosis Test globular, spherical proloculus followed by enrolled undivided tubular second chamber, early coiling streptospiral, later planispiral, strongly involute, so that only the final whorl is visible from the exterior, chambers low and very broad, extending to the umbilicus on each side; wall calcareous, imperforate, porcelaneous, appearing dark in thin section, very thick, the wall thickness greatly exceeding the height of the chamber lumen.
