Diagnosis Translation from Russian page 189: "An independent subgenus, in our opinion, is N. millecaput and related Nummulites species. They are characterized not only by the originality of the summary graphs, which differ sharply from those of the subgenus Nummulites Nemkov, but also by other morphological features: a) large sizes of the megasphere (0.5–1.5 mm and more); b) a large difference in size between mega- and microspherical generations of the same type; c) rather often observed asymmetric structure of the shell; d) strongly inclined and curved septa; e) sickle-shaped chambers. Typical representatives of this relatively small group, which we distinguish into the subgenus Meskhethites, are N. millecaput, N. distans, N. irregularis, N. subdistans etc. Type of the subgenus N. millecaput."
