Description Drawn after living specimens . (a) Polyp stage with medusae buds found on tube of a serpulid polychaete from from Wellington Harbour, scale bar 0.3 mm. (b) Newly liberated medusa; scale bar 0.5 mm. (c) 8-day old medusa; same scale as (b). (d) 16-day old medusa, gonads are visible but not fully developed; scale bar 1 mm. (e) Nematocysts: microbasic eurytele, desmoneme; scale bar 10 µm.
