A description is given of the Gammaridae (G. fossarum, G. roeseli, G. lacustris) in the waters of Vorarlberg, and of the Gammarus pulex which occurs in the neighbouring countries, and looks similarly to the Gammarus fossarum. Especially mentionable is the occurrence of Gammarus lacustris which, swimming from time to time, feeds on plankton and thus becomes an easy prey to fish. In Austria Gammarus lacustris occurs only in two other lakes.
