Diagnosis Siphonophorae without apical pneumatophore, with a nectosome typically formed by one or two nectophores of different shape, except in Hippopodiidae which have several nectophores. A single bract is developed on each cormidial unit, with the exception of the family Hippopodiidae where bracts are absent. Cormidial units may detach successively from the stem and become eudoxid, or sexual stage. Colonies monoecious. [details]Spelling Original name was Calycophoridae (family level name) [details]
