Etymology The specific epithet brevicollis means 'having a short neck', being composed by the Latin adjective brevis, meaning 'short', and collis, a form of the Latin noun collum, meaning 'neck', and refers to the short first segment of the species. [details]
Habitat Holtenia-ground of mud with Globigerina ooze and a considerable amount of sand, at about 1190 m. [details]
Status The species was considered to be a nomen dubium by Licher (1999: 304). [details]
Type locality North Atlantic Ocean, Rockall Trough, 59º34'N, 07º18'W (59.567º -7.3º), at 650 fathoms (about 1190 m), temperature 6.49ºC, in a Holtenia-ground of mud with Globigerina ooze and a considerable amount of sand. [details]
