Etymology authors: Platynereis entshonae "is named using the IsiXhosa or Xhosa word ‘entshona’ which means ‘west’, as this is the type region of the species". The comment is presumed to be referring to the geographic area called Western Cape, but whether 'entshonae' is an attempt at Latinization or an adjective or noun is not stated. The word is assumed to be an indeclinable noun. [details]
