Status Hobsonia was excluded from the Ampharetidae key of Jirkov (2011) and he placed it as a genus of uncertain taxonomical status, reasons unstated. Banse (1979) appears to make careful comparisons to other genera when he established Hobsonia, and the genus subsequently has been widely used with Hobsonia florida regarded as invasive, perhaps with weak justification. [details]
