Etymology The specific epithet aberranta refers to the modified posterior thoracic notosetae of setigers 6 to 9, being distally expanded and ending in a slender projection, which is unique among the capitellids. [details]

Reproduction Large ova are present in the first six segments of the abdomen of the holotype, collected in August 1966. [details]
