Editor's comment Without the brief description that follows in a figure caption on p.505 [plates not published, and not in Hartman, 1944] Praxilla zonalis would be a nomen nudum. "Plate 6, figure 2. Casco Bay, 8 to 20 fathoms; anterior and posterior portions, enlarged 4 diameters. This species has 22 setigerous segments and the circular bands of color on the anterior portion are bright red".
