Etymology "The species is named after Dr Ralf Bastrop, University of Rostock, to honour him for his contribution to the population genetics of Marenzelleria spp. He was the first person to find ‘Marenzelleria Type III’ [consequently named as Marenzelleria bastropi]" (Bick, 2005: 268). [details]
Habitat Type of sediment unknown, salinity of about 4 psu (June 1995), intertidal depths. [details]
