Status Porostylina is very probably an unavailable name. The only quotation I have found is in Wells 1986. He mentioned "...
Status Porostylina is very probably an unavailable name. The only quotation I have found is in Wells 1986. He mentioned " Porostylina Fromentel and Ferry MS" and gives " Heliocoenia variabilis Etallon 1884" as the type species. This mention is very strange because of this last date, which is certainly wrong. Despite a careful investigation in Etallon 1864 but also in Koby 1884, I did not find any published trace of this generic name. Anyway Heliocoenia variabilis is already the type species of Heliocoenia Etallon 1859. Then, if Porostylina was available, it would not be valid. The name was never used. [details]
