Alien species The species was reported from the Mediterranean Sea by Somaschini & Gravina (1993). However, this record was based on a misidentification, and the Mediterranean specimens were later described as a new species, Questa mediterranea, by Giere & Erséus (1998). [details]
Depth range 7-124 m deep. [details]
Distribution West coast of North America (California, British Columbia). Also recorded from the Gulf of Mexico (Florida). The records from the Mediterranean Sea and the Canary Islands refer to different species. [details]
Etymology The specific epithet refers to the presence of a pair of dorsolaterally and similar, slightly longer ventrolaterally inserted cirriform processes surrounding the anal pore. [details]
Type locality Santa Catalina Island (California, USA), 9.15 miles, 152º T. from W End Light, on Farnsworth Bank. [details]
