Etymology "The specific name is from the Latin elegans meaning elegant" (Delgado-Blas et al., 2018: 534). [details]
Habitat In substrates of medium and fine sands with low mud (max. 1.43%) and low organic matter (1-3%) contents, from intertidal to shallow subtidal depth. [details]
Type locality Meira beach, Ría de Vigo, Galicia, Spain, Atlantic Ocean (42.2833°, -8.7167°), intertidal.
