Etymology Not explicitly stated by the authors. The specific epithet plumisetosa refers clearly to the anterior row of stout chaetae present in the anterior chaetigers of the species: "The most conspicuous characters of L. plumisetosa sp. nov. are [...] the presence of stout capillaries with plush-like texture in parapodia of anterior chaetigers [...]. The presence of stout chaetae with plush-like texture as described here for L. plumisetosa can be regarded as a unique character for species of Laonice" (Bogantes et al., 2018: 744). [details]
