Etymology "This species is named after “Tierra del Fuego’’ island, from Latin Terra (land) and Ignis (fire). Syllis terraeignium was mainly found in shallow waters of Magellan Strait and Beagle Channel that surround this island, which is located in the South America southern point" (Soto et al., 2020: 153). [details]
Habitat Inside tubes (empty and occupied) of Chaetopterus cf. variopedatus, from boulders and mixed sediments associated to Macrocystis pyrifera (Linnaeus) C. Agardh, 1820 holdfasts in fjords, islands and channels (salinity 30.2-35 PSU; temperature 8.5-8.9°C), in shallow subtidal (14-30 m). [details]
