Status The type species of Unicardium (Corbula cardioides Phillips, 1829) is attributed to Mactromya Agassiz, 1843 by Hodges (2019), which would make Unicardium its junior subjective synonym. That author argues, however, that Unicardium should be maintained for other several species and that the current type species should be removed as its type species to settle the uncertainties of the two genera. A ruling by the ICZN seems required. [details]
