Etymology Notaulax montiporicola (Montipora, combined with the Latin -cola = ‘dweller’) was found in a species of a living coral Montipora (no species id). [details]
Habitat associated with a living species of Montipora coral and the enclosure in the coral is suggested to be a bioclaustration (overgrowth of the worm tube by the coral polyps). [details]
Type locality W coast of Binongko Island, Tukang Besi Islands, off SE Sulawesi, Banda Sea, Indonesia, -5.9167 S, 123.9833 E, (5° 55′ 0″ S, 123° 59′ 0″ E), 3-6 m. The geolocation given is terrestrial by about 500m from the shore, thus is assumed to be inaccurate. [details]
