Etymology Oxydromus digitifera is named for a digitiform projection on the parapodia. The suffix used is the feminine version of 'fer, fera, ferum'. However, for mandatory gender agreement with the masculine genus name the name should be Oxydromus digitifer. [details]
Spelling Uncorrected incorrect gender suffix. Oxydromus is masculine and the compound adjective digitifera has a feminine suffix. The gender forms are 'fer' 'fera' 'ferum' of the Latin adjective meaning bearing. The name should be Oxydromus digitifer. [details]
