A detailed study of the ostracod fauna contained in the Cretaceous exposures on Prothro (sec. 8, T. 14 N.,
R. 6 W.), and Rayburns (sec. 31, T. 15 N., R. 5 W.) salt domes, southeastern Bienville Parish, Louisiana, indicates
that these exposures are the equivalent of the Saratoga formation of Arkansas. Surface samples from the two
domes and samples from a core hole at Rayburns have yielded 22 genera, two of which are new, and 40 species,
8 of which are new. All species occuring in the samples and the two new genera are described and figured.
