Etymology Authors: "Osedax estcourti n. sp. is named in remembrance of Dr. Ivan Neil Estcourt (1938–1981), benthic ecologist and the first polychaetologist researcher at the former New Zealand Oceanographic Institute (now NIWA)." [details]
