The already rather intensively studied fauna of non-marine ostracodes from the Recôncavo-Tucano Basin of coastal Brazil has yielded nine new species and five new subspecies, which are figured and described. Seven ostracodes species which have recently been described by Krömmelbein & Weber (1971) and two species described by Grekoff & Krömmelbein (1967) from West Africa are figured, and their morphology and stratigraphic occurrence are briefly discussed. New material is presented for the biostratigraphic zonation of the Recôncavo-Tucano Basin and its correlation with the West African coastal basins, where the same species of non marine ostracodes occur as in Brazil and with a corresponding vertical distribution. The distribution of the new taxa within the zonation of the Recôncavo-Tucano Basin is graphically illustrated. Another table shows the ranges of the stratigraphically important ostracodes species, while a third shows the various stratigraphic units of the basin.
