U. Cretaceous (Campanian) to Holocene; Europe; USSR; Japan; Caribbean; USA. (Loeblich & Tappan, 1987, Foraminiferal Genera and Their Classification) [details]
Type species Loeblich and Tappan (1986): "As Marie described the genus on the basis of the Cretaceous species at hand, and not on the Recent type of D. communis d'Orbigny = D. recta (Montagu), the genus Enantiodentalina was based on a deliberately misapplied name for the type species; hence, following ICZN Art. 70 (c), Enantiodentalina is herein recognized with E. communis Marie (non Nodosaria (Den- taline) communis d'Orbigny) as type species."
