Oceanobdella pallida n. sp., a marine leech parasitic in the mouth of Parophrys vetulus is described. Individuals reach a maximum length of 20 mnm. Pigmentation consists of faint reddish-brown segmental transverse bands; the caudal sucker is unpigmented and has no ocelli. The leech occurred on about 20% of the English sole in Oregon coastal waters and was present throughout the year.
