Editor's comment Although not stated by its authors, Cominella virgata was clearly introduced as a replacement name for Buccinum lineolatum Quoy & Gaimard, 1833 not Lamarck, 1816, being based on a copy of one of Quoy & Gaimard's (1833, pl. 30, fig. 15) illustrations of B. lineolatum. [details]
