A new genus of Thelepinae, Glossothelepus, is described from deep water off Mexico, with the type species G. mexicanus, n. sp. The genus is closely related to Decathelepus Hutchings and Rhinothelepus Hutchings from Australia, and Telothelepus Day from South Africa.
