A number of common cruises of the USSR and Vietnam permitted to collect in the gulf of Tonkin a rich collection of Acoëtinae (Errantia Polychaeta). Nine species belonging to four genera have been identified. In addition to many synonymical con¬ siderations, including the discontinuance of the genus Panthalis considered as synonymous with Polyodontes, this study has given the opportunity to find and to describe a newform, Neopanthalis pelamida gen. sp. nov. A dichotomous key of the Acoëtina genera has been worked out.
