Type designation The genus was separated from Ommatogammarus Stebbing, 1899, for the single species Gammarus flavus Dybowsky, 1874. Takhteev (2000) noted that G. flavus was already fixed as the type species of Ommatogammarus itself by Dybowsky (1924) and therefore cannot be separated from that genus.
