Diagnosis Salazar-Silva (2013) "Halosydna salazarvallejoi sp. nov. resembles H. silvamariae sp. nov. but differs in having a fringe of marginal papillae on the anterior elytra and soft macrotubercles less prominent and scattered on the elytral surface." The two holotypes were collected from the same benthic station. In the key H. silvamariae is paired with H. leucohyba (Schmarda) and separated as "First pair of elytra without microtubercles sclerotized; with vesicular macrotubercles ovoid, abundant; elytra of middle and posterior segments with macrotubercles soft, ovoids long [details]
