Synonymy Lukina (1980) proposed Reophax angustus to accomodate specimens already illustrated by Brady (1884, pl. 31, figs. 3-4). Hofker (1972) had also placed these specimens in the synonymy of his new species Hormosina mortenseni. Kaminski and Gradstein (2005) considered those same specimens described as Reophax nododulosa by Brady as probably conspecific with Pseudonodosinella elongata (Grzybowski, 1898), differing only in their larger dimensions and in possessing more numerous chambers.
