Etymology The specific epithet pusilla is a Latin adjective meaning 'very small', and refers presumably to the small size of the species: "Cette espèce est fort remarquable par sa petitesse et le nombre de ses segments, exceptionnellement faible pour un Phyllodocien" (Claparède, 1870: 460).
