Type locality Baird did not know the type locality. He wrote: "we are indebted to Mr. Jukes, who collected it during the voyage of H.M. ship the 'Fly'. Unfortunately the habitat has not been preserved; but probably it is a native of the seas of Australia or New Zealand. {Mus. Brit.)." [details]
