Possibly a junior synonym of Comatella nigra Carpenter 1888.
According to Hoggett, A.K. & Rowe, F.W.E. (1986), it is probable that the Comatella species maculata, nigra and stelligera, each described by P.H. Carpenter in the same publication in 1888, will prove to be conspecific; Comatella nigra (Carpenter, 1888) has page priority (Rowe & Gates, 1995). [details]
