Taxonomic remark Several genera of the Hydractiniidae have been redefined by Miglietta et al. (2010, 2012) based on molecular phylogenies. It seems that mudusa liberating species form a distinct clade, thus validating the old concept of the genus Podocoryna. However, the genus contains also some species libertaing medusoids.
Hydractiniidae species only knopn in their medusa phase are nevertheless here attributd provisionally the genus Podocoryna. [details]Unreviewed
Spelling Sometimes erroneously spelled as Podocoryne. [details]
